Shocking video footage shows the moment a 12-year-old boy is surrounded by a gang of boys including ones holding a ‘BB gun’ and a hammer before they attack him.

The clip shows the young boy being chased through a park in Leicester by a group of youths before being kicked to the ground.

The defenseless boy clutches his head and curls up in a ball to try and protect himself. 

They stamp on his hand before fleeing the scene of the horrific attack on October 5.

The incident occurred in the area of Beaumont Walk in Leicester, and was posted to social media yesterday, with a comment saying: ‘A group of young kids attack a young kid happen in a park in Leicester.’  

The video has shocked hundreds online, with one saying: ‘Oh my god. The stamps and kicks to the head, no remorse and a hammer? ‘

‘What is this! Look at what our children have learnt from our behavior! I hope the poor kid was not badly hurt. F***!’ 

Another person commented: ‘Totally horrific! where is the action plan from the government! They are too busy on Brexit to care.’ 

Someone else posted: ‘Sickening. I hope the child is ok and the attackers arrested!’ 

Another posted: ‘Made my blood run cold… even more so when I saw the hammer and gun! Beyond feral… and I’m beyond words.’

Leicestershire Police today confirmed they have arrested four boys in connection with the incident. 

A spokeswoman said: ‘Leicestershire Police received a report of an assault on a 12-year-old boy in the area of Beaumont Walk, Leicester, on Saturday afternoon (5 October). 

‘It was reported the boy had been assaulted by a number of other youths in the incident which happened sometime between 3.30pm and 4pm. 

‘One of the youths was reported to be in possession of what is believed to be a hammer and another youth was holding a BB gun at the time of the incident. 

‘The victim of the assault was reported to have suffered injuries including bruising. 

‘We are also aware of a video which has been posted on social media in relation to this assault.

‘Four boys – three aged 13 and one aged 14 – have been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident. 

‘They have since been released on police bail. ‘A BB gun believed to be used during the incident has since been recovered. 

‘Our enquiries remain ongoing following the report and police continue to carry out proactive patrols in the area. 

‘We urge anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact police quoting incident 19000535709. 

‘We would like to reassure the local community that we are working closely with parents and schools. 

‘However, if you have any questions or concerns, I would also urge you to make contact with your local officers.’
